Montserrat and its Monastery

Located at 20 miles from Barcelona (45 min drive), the mountain of Montserrat offers us the opportunity to relax and enjoy some breathtaking views of its unique shapes and the landscape of the Llobregat Valley and learning about life in this traditional Monastery, located at more tan 2200 feet. Founded on 1025, the Monastery of Montserrat hosts the famous Black Madonna or La Moreneta, venerated by thousands of pilgrims every year and where monks live still following the ancien benedictine rule ora el lavora, stablished in the 6th century.
During our visit, local farmers will offer us to taste their delicious cheese and honey, besides other traditional products produced in this area.
